Former India captain Virat Kohli took to X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday and shared the first glimpse of his “dream home” in Alibaug. Kohli has described the journey of 12 months of the construction and posted several photos of the interior design and garden, and why he chose the project in Alibaug.

He captioned the post, “The experience of building my Alibaug home has been absolutely seamless, and to see it fall into place is such a satisfying feeling. Huge thanks to the entire Avas team for turning our dream home into reality. Can’t wait to enjoy every moment in here with my loved ones!

In this accompanying video, Kohli explained why he chose the project, the amenities available, and what he liked the most about his new home. He said, “When I heard the plan, the project in itself is so very unique. You have a sense of community, but at the same time, you have your own privacy and then you have the access to all the amenities you need in a vacation home.”. You guys also have a world-class spa next door, you know, which was like the USP for me. So all that coming together was a no-brainer for me. I mean, what I love the most in here is the living space, and needless to say, the access outdoors from the living space. It’s aesthetically done really well and just exactly how I like it—it’s perfect with interiors and natural light coming in. “It’s very subtle and classy. The space allows you to just relax and not think about anything else.”
Kohli is on a break from international cricket following his sterling performance in the finals of the T20 World Cup in Barbados in the match played on June 29. He played a crucial innings of 76 off 59 balls against South Africa in the final as India won by a narrow margin of seven runs.

After the celebration duties in India – a team meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and a felicitation ceremony at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium – Kohli travelled to London to be with his wife Anushka and their children.

Kohli was due to return to action in the upcoming three-match ODI series in Sri Lanka next month, which starts India’s campaign for the 2025 Champions Trophy. However, he, along with skipper Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah, is likely to be rested for the series. A PTI report suggested that selectors want to keep them fresh for upcoming commitments in the World Test Championship. India will play two Tests against Bangladesh, three against New Zealand, followed by the high-profile five-Test Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.
