In a delightful instance, marking the 20th Guinness World Records Day, Rumeysa Gelgi, the world’s tallest woman, and Jyoti Amge, the shortest woman, had a nice tea afternoon at The Savoy hotel in London. Record Holders Share Special Bond

Rumeysa Gelgi, 27, with a height of 215.16 cm (7 ft 1 in), which is an incredible height, rare disease called Weaver syndrome, is the world’s tallest woman. Jyoti Amge, 30, can boast the Shortest Women of 62.8 cm (2 ft 1 in) because she is suffering from achondroplasia, a type of dwarfism.

They met and Ms. Gelgi related her elation:”It was so thrilling when I first met Jyoti. We might be different in height which was the reason why it was not that easy to maintain eye contact, but we clicked with each other and shared many interests such as makeup and self-care routines.”

Ms. Amge responded to her with her appreciation, “I have been used to viewing people taller than me from the bottom and looking up to Rumeysa was such a great feeling. She is a very good-hearted woman and I am very comfortable with her.”

Extraordinary Lives

Both characters have been seen as Guinness World Record icons since the 70th-anniversary edition of the Guinness World Records book. The book also commends a number of other people who are not ordinary, like Sultan Kösen, who is the world’s tallest man, and Diana Armstrong, who has her longest fingernails record.

Ms. Gelgi, being in a wheelchair or using a walker, is a powerful woman who contends with her condition with a refusal to let it hinder her accomplishments. Meanwhile, Ms. Amge, who is famous for her character Ma Petite in the horror TV series American Horror Story, is still a source of inspiration of bravery and positivity for others.

A Celebration of Differences

Craig Glenday, editor-in-chief of Guinness World Records, emphasized the importance of celebrating diversity:
“Guinness World Records is all about highlighting the beauty of differences. By bringing together these two extraordinary women, we gain unique insights into their lives and celebrate the incredible diversity of humanity.”

This iconic meeting underscores the essence of Guinness World Records—honoring individuals who embody determination, uniqueness, and the human spirit.
