The two-piece suit was an exclusive first for POLITIX, constructed from a mix of opposing tones of donated moustache hair. It was produced in Australia due to the collaborative effort of visual artist and photographer Pamela Kleemann-Passi, Bullfrog Creative Agency, and established menswear brand POLITIX.
Initially aired on Australia's The Today Show, the special outfit was developed to commemorate November 2021 and intended to be a discussion starter regarding men's health concerns, physical and mental.
"The suit has only recently picked up Gold at the Spikes Asia award for Health," Andrew Vance, Social PR & Events Manager at POLITIX, announced. "During the second week of March 2022, the 'Worn to be heard' Mo-Hair Suit Showcase was an official event of the Melbourne Fashion Festival."
The POLITIX x Movember campaign "Worn to be Heard" had a specific emphasis on testicular and prostate cancer and suicide, among the most prevalent and most overlooked killers of men.
The jacket was designed to provide voices for those who endured the brunt of a social fabric that too often ignores men's health and explicitly invited men to grab hold of help when necessary.

"Get tested, speak freely, and heed your body," provokes Pamela Kleemann-Passi in her communication ensnared in the suit's lining. Since 2003, Movember has challenged men to grow mustaches to make people aware and to "change the face of men's health."

Increasing awareness about men's health is an issue close to the heart of the artist following, in 2016, her late husband Passi Joe's death from prostate and colorectal cancer. The experience affected Kleemann-Passi's artistic vision, and the Mo-Hair suit project touched her on a personal and artistic level.

And, naturally, the challenge of making a two-piece suit out of mustache hair also had its challenges. I'd worked with two-dimensional clothing from head hair previously; I'd never used 'mohair.' I knew I would require A LOT of it," said Kleemann-Passi.
