World remembers torch bearer of women’s movements

Great pioneer of women’s movement in India, Savitri Bai Phule was a teacher, social reformer, educationalist, and poet from Maharashtra. Along with her husband Jyotiba Phule, she played a vital role in providing education to women in 19th century India. Today on her death anniversary the twitter was filled with tweets in remembrance of her legacy. Devendra Fadnavis tweeted “Krantiyoti Savitribai Phule championed women’s education and women’s empowerment changing lives of #IndiaWomen forever.” A netizen tweeted a quote by Phule “make the daughter educated before her marriage, so that she can easily differentiate between good and bad.”
