One Texas Tech University student, 18-year-old Camryn Giselle Booker, was arrested after taunting Charlie Kirk’s murder and dancing at a vigil for the founder of Turning Point USA. She was seen on video Friday yelling, “F*** y’all homie dead, he got shot in the head,” while attending the memorial.
Booker stood in front of mourners with her phone, tugging on a man wearing a Make America Great Again hat and demanding to know why she was ‘being so hateful’. Another student implored her to ‘back up, please’ as she kept shoving her phone in his face. Booker answered, “Okay, and I can do this too,” persisting in her belligerent conduct, according to Daily Mail.

When informed that she was being too emotional and aggressive, Booker accused the grieving of racism, saying, “You’re calling me aggressive because I’m a black woman.” She reportedly also yelled slurs at the crowd marching with candles and American flags.
Witnesses said Booker called individuals ‘fascists’ as she paid respects to Kirk and pushed a number of people, including a retired veteran and a young mother, which led to a full-blown brawl that spilt out on the street.
Booker became a target for online criticism, with many denouncing her behavior and what seemed like the celebration of Kirk’s death.
Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that she was arrested on charges of violence, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. She was released the next day on a $200 bail. She was also reportedly fired from Texas Tech University following the scuffle.
This accident highlights tensions and overreactions surrounding Charlie Kirk’s death, which has already sparked national debates about civility, protest, and respect for mourning communities.
