Woman Spots Rs 799 H&M Top Listed for Rs 999 on Myntra, Posts Screenshots

A recent post on X (formerly Twitter) by Aakriti Bhalla has sparked discussions about a noticeable price discrepancy between an H&M top sold on Myntra and the brand’s direct-to-consumer (D2C) website. Bhalla pointed out that the same top, identical in color and size, was priced Rs 200 higher on Myntra than on the H&M website.

Bhalla shared screenshots to back her claim, showing a dark beige V-neck bodysuit listed for Rs 799 on H&M’s official site, while the same item was priced at Rs 999 on Myntra. “Another reason why I have stopped shopping on Myntra: Same H&M top, available at Rs 799 on the brand’s D2C website, but at a markup of Rs 200 on Myntra. Mind it, there are no discounts, no offers on the brand’s website,” she wrote, adding, “Not cool, Myntra.”

Since its posting on August 24, Bhalla’s tweet has garnered over one lakh views, with many users chiming in to share their own experiences with similar discrepancies. One user recounted how they found a product on Amazon at the same price as a pack of three on Myntra. Another expressed frustration with Myntra’s policy of not refunding the “platform fee” on returns due to incorrect sizes being sent.

Several other users echoed their concerns about Myntra’s service quality, with one saying they stopped shopping on the platform after receiving a fake product. Another commenter thanked Bhalla, stating they would now avoid shopping on Myntra and instead go to a physical store or the brand’s D2C site.

This incident has raised questions about pricing practices on e-commerce platforms, with many users suggesting they will be more cautious in the future when comparing prices across different sites.
