The Noida police are investigating the alleged suicide of a woman in Sadarpur Colony after her husband reportedly prohibited her from using Instagram. The deceased, identified as Vishakha, resided with her husband and two children in a flat within the Sector-39 Police Station jurisdiction.
While the police have not received any formal complaint regarding the incident, they are exploring other potential motives behind the woman’s death. An officer stated, “We have not received any complaint in the matter as of now. The family initially indicated that Instagram could be the reason for her extreme step. An investigation is underway to ascertain if there are any other factors involved.”
The woman’s husband, who works as an Ola bike driver and is the family’s primary breadwinner, reportedly had previous disagreements with her regarding Instagram usage. According to police sources, the fatal incident occurred following an argument between the couple on Monday.
No suicide note has been found by the police in connection with the case. The couple, married for approximately nine years, had reportedly faced marital difficulties in the past, with neighbors mentioning a previous suicide attempt by the woman six months ago.
