In a bizarre yet hilarious moment caught on camera, an old video from Nepal showing two rhinoceroses casually visiting an ATM lounge has resurfaced online, leaving netizens amused all over again. The clip, originally filmed in 2022 in Nepal’s Chitwan district, recently went viral once more after it was shared by the Instagram page Lost in the Himalaya with the caption, “Nepal isn’t for beginners.”
The footage begins with a rhino peeing right outside the ATM lounge. Moments later, another rhino can be seen standing inside the lounge, almost as if it’s inspecting the ATM. A man approaching the machine for a cash withdrawal is visibly stunned and steps back upon noticing the unusual ‘user’ already inside.

Chitwan, known for its rich biodiversity and being home to Nepal’s first national park, often witnesses such wildlife interactions, but even locals were surprised at this unusual scene. As the video continues, the rhino nonchalantly walks out of the ATM, allowing the waiting man his turn.
Social media users couldn’t hold back their reactions. One person commented, “You wait outside the ATM when someone (or a rhino) is already inside. That’s basic civic sense.” Another joked, “They (rhinos) were looking for lounge access.”
Some even connected the sighting to Nepalese currency, which features the animal. One user wrote, “They want to claim all the rupee bills that have their photos on them,” while another quipped, “Umm sorry Sir! Just wanted to see how my photo came out on the national currency.”
With over a million views and thousands of comments, the resurfaced video proves that rhinos queuing at ATMs are a sight you never really forget.
