‘Why Not Lord Ram?’: Indore Delivery Agent Forced To Remove Santa Outfit | WATCH

In a very controversial incident in Indore, members of the Hindu Jagran Manch forced a food delivery agent to take off his Santa Outfit on Christmas Day. A video of the episode is now doing the rounds of social media, and everyone is talking about it.

Delivery Agent Questioned For Wearing Costume

The Zomato delivery agent, dressed as Santa Claus for a Christmas promotion, was stopped and questioned by Sumit Hardia, the district convenor of the Hindu Jagran Manch. In the video, Mr. Hardia is seen questioning the delivery agent, asking, Do you ever dress as Lord Ram during Diwali?” The agent said that the company had asked him to wear the costume for the holiday season.

Despite the clarification, the distribution agent was asked to take off the costume on the spot. Mr. Hardia stated that such actions send a wrong message to children and that there should be better icons like Bhagat Singh or Chandrashekhar Azad for the message of inspiration.

Religious Tones in the Incident

Mr. Hardia added, India is a Hindu rashtra and it’s their religious‘ temptations’ to convert them through something like  Santa Outfit” He further said that it was a very poor understanding of food delivery companies towards the motive of such promotional activities.

This incident has elicited mixed reactions online, as some call it an unwarranted imposition while others supported the sentiment expressed by the group. The debate has thus brought attention to the intersection of cultural practices and corporate marketing strategies in India.
