A Pakistani woman, Nikita Nagdev, has made a public appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking help after claiming that her husband left her shortly after their wedding in 2020. Nikita alleged that her husband, Vikram Nagdev is a Pakistani-origin man. He is living in Indore on a long-term visa and is now planning for second marriage in Delhi.

Who is Nikita Nagdev?

Nikita, a resident of Karachi, stated that she married Vikram Nagdev, a Pakistani-origin man residing in Indore on a long-term visa, on January 26, 2020, in Karachi, following Hindu customs. She further alleged that during the COVID-19 lockdown, Vikram forced her to return to Pakistan against her will.

What happened to Nikita Nagdev

Nikita’s case has drawn public attention after she released a video plea to PM Modi, claiming that her husband abandoned her in Pakistan and is now planning a second marriage in Delhi. According to news reports from December 2025:

  • Nikita married Vikram in Karachi in January 2020 and moved to India a month later.

  • On July 9, 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown, she alleges that Vikram forced her back to Pakistan at the Attari border and blocked her re-entry into India.

  • She claims her in-laws’ behavior changed after the wedding and discovered Vikram was allegedly having an affair with a relative.

  • After returning to Karachi, Nikita learned that Vikram was planning to marry another woman in Delhi.

  • She filed a complaint in Indore in January 2025. The Sindhi Panch Mediation and Legal Counsel Centre determined that, as neither spouse is an Indian citizen, the matter falls under Pakistan’s jurisdiction and recommended Vikram’s deportation.

  • As of December 2025, the case remains unresolved, with an inquiry ordered and action expected.

Nikita Nagdev Allegations of Abuse and Forced Repatriation

In her video plea, Nikita accused Vikram of mental and emotional abuse, claiming she discovered his affair almost immediately after moving to his family home in India. She alleged that Vikram forcibly sent her back to Karachi under the pretext of a “visa technicality” and has refused her re-entry into India since then.

She stated, “If justice is not served today, women will lose faith in justice. Every woman deserves justice in India.” Her appeal has triggered widespread public outrage.

According to Nikita, she and Vikram married on January 26, 2020, in Karachi following Hindu customs. He brought her to India on February 26, 2020, but within a few months, her life changed drastically. She noticed a shift in her in-laws’ behavior and discovered Vikram’s alleged affair with a relative.

When she raised the issue with her father-in-law, he reportedly said: “Boys have affairs, nothing can be done.” During the COVID-19 lockdown, Vikram allegedly pressured her to return to Pakistan and denied her re-entry into India.

How Nikita Nagdev Got to Know About Her Husband Second Marriage Plan

Through mediation efforts, Nikita learned that Vikram was planning a second marriage in Delhi, even though he was still legally married to her. Distressed, she filed a written complaint on January 27, 2025, seeking justice.

Mediation and Legal Recommendations in Nikita Nagdev Case

The Sindhi Panch Mediation and Legal Counsel Centre, authorized by the Madhya Pradesh High Court, took up the case. Notices were sent to Vikram and his alleged fiancée, and a hearing was conducted. Mediation efforts, however, failed.

The legal body stated that since neither Nikita nor Vikram is an Indian citizen, the matter falls under Pakistan’s jurisdiction and recommended that Vikram be deported to Pakistan, a recommendation also made by the Indore social panchayat in May 2025.

Government Action Underway in Nikita Nagdev case

Indore Collector Ashish Singh confirmed that an inquiry has been ordered and that action will be taken based on the findings. Authorities are continuing to investigate allegations of forced repatriation and Vikram’s plans for a second marriage.
