A 14-year-old girl and a 21-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after being struck by a car driven by a teenager while they were creating rangolis outside their homes in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The incident occurred on Monday, just ahead of the Diwali festival, and was captured on CCTV footage.
According to police reports, the driver, a 17-year-old, lost control of the vehicle, crashing into the two women and hitting several parked two-wheelers. Moments before the collision, the car nearly struck another pedestrian walking on the road. After the crash, the driver fled the scene with a friend, but authorities later apprehended him and seized the vehicle involved in the incident.
Both victims were rushed to a local hospital for treatment, with one of them reported to be in critical condition. The community is now grappling with the aftermath of this tragic event, which has raised concerns about road safety, especially during festive times.
