A video showing a Rapido driver speeding on a motorcycle while watching YouTube Shorts has gone viral on Instagram, sparking significant safety concerns. The footage, which has garnered over a million views, was recorded by a passenger who captured the driver watching cricket highlights while maneuvering through traffic. The clip also humorously features the passenger wearing an “Avengers” helmet as the rider narrowly avoids collisions with cars and pedestrians due to his distraction.

The video does not specify the city or the airport the passenger was heading to. In the caption, Instagram user Sai Chand Bandi wrote (loosely translated from Tamil): “Brother, drive the vehicle by watching the road. What are you doing man? He’s watching match highlights!”

Reactions from Instagram Users

The incident underscores the reckless behavior of some drivers and highlights the need for stricter traffic rule enforcement and penalties. The company has yet to release an official statement addressing the troubling conduct of its riders.

One user commented, “One guy was playing some kind of rummy game on his mobile while driving,” sharing a similar experience.

Another user recounted, “Once a Rapido driver asked me to drive because he was too drunk and couldn’t see the road properly.”

A third user criticized the behavior, stating, “Shouldn’t this be punishable? I mean he’s putting the passengers and people on the road’s life at risk.”

Meanwhile, a fourth user tagged Rapido on Instagram, asking, “@rapidoapp is this something you need to take action on?”

A fifth user noted a similarity between Rapido bike riders and auto drivers, mentioning, “Most of the auto drivers are doing this 24/7 if you care to notice.”
