Watch: Man Sitting On Chair In Middle Of Busy UP Road Gets Hit By Truck

A viral video capturing a bizarre incident from Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, has been making rounds on social media. The 17-second clip shows a man casually sitting on a plastic chair in the middle of a busy road during heavy rainfall, seemingly indifferent to the vehicles passing by.

Man Sits Unfazed in Traffic

The video, which has left viewers both shocked and puzzled, shows the man dressed in only a pair of black shorts. With his legs folded, he appears entirely unbothered by the chaotic traffic around him. Reports suggest that the man was positioned near a police check post, yet no one intervened to remove him from the dangerous spot.

WATCH THE VIDEO:

Near-Miss with a Truck

As vehicles continued to navigate around him, onlookers can be heard jeering and ridiculing the man’s strange behavior. Suddenly, a large truck approaches from behind. Unaware of the truck’s proximity, the man continues to sit calmly until the truck sideswipes his chair, knocking him to the ground. The impact shocks the man, who is seen lying on the road afterward, seemingly uninjured.

Onlookers Urge Truck Driver to Leave

In a surprising turn of events, bystanders can be heard in the video urging the truck driver to leave the scene without stopping to check on the man. The driver complies, driving away without further incident.

Police Response and Investigation

The video has since caught the attention of local authorities. The Pratapgarh police have confirmed that the man is mentally ill and has been handed over to his family. “After immediate investigation by Kotwali Nagar Police Station, the family of the young man was informed that he is mentally ill and has been handed over to his family. The truck that hit the young man is being identified and further legal proceedings are underway,” the police stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

The incident has sparked discussions on social media about the responsibilities of both the public and authorities in handling such situations, especially when mental health is involved.
