Watch: Indian Ticketless Train Passenger Creates Ruckus Over Reserved Seats

A video showing an argument between two railway passengers over a reserved seat has gone viral on social media, highlighting ongoing issues of overcrowding and ticketless travelers in Indian trains. The clip, shared on X by user Ghar Ke Kalesh (@gharkekalesh), has garnered over 922,000 views since being posted on Wednesday.

The video depicts a confrontation between two individuals in the sleeper coach of a train. One man, traveling without a reservation, demands to sit on the Side Upper berth already occupied by another passenger. The passenger, who had reserved the seat, refuses to move, leading to a heated exchange.

In the video, the man without a ticket sarcastically asks the reserved passenger if he plans to take the seat home with him. The other passenger retorts, explaining that he paid to reserve the seat for a comfortable journey and urges the man to find a vacant spot elsewhere.

The incident has sparked a wave of reactions online. Many social media users expressed frustration with the increasing number of people traveling without tickets, causing inconvenience for those who have paid for their seats.

One commenter shared their anger, stating, “It infuriates me every time I see someone without a ticket asking passengers who have paid for theirs to ‘adjust.’ It’s unfair and disrespectful! Why should people who follow the rules have to make space for those who don’t?”

Several users urged the railway authorities to address the issue, suggesting increased staff presence to monitor and prevent such incidents. “There should be more railway staff taking action against people traveling without reservations and demanding seats from others,” one person recommended.

The video has intensified calls for Indian Railways to enforce stricter regulations to prevent unauthorized passengers from entering reserved coaches, a problem many feel has been neglected for too long.
