Watch: Gurgaon’s Rs 100 Crore Apartments Gives ‘Sea View’ After Rain

Gurgaon residents once again struggled with waterlogged streets and traffic congestion on Wednesday morning after a brief but heavy spell of rain brought the city to a halt. The most striking scenes emerged from one of Gurgaon’s upscale neighborhoods, known for its extravagant ₹100 crore DLF apartments, where luxury cars were seen wading through deep water.

High-End Neighbourhood Faces Severe Waterlogging

In a now-viral video shared by former Meta employee Anushri Pawar, the luxurious Golf Course Road—home to the ultra-expensive DLF Magnolias and DLF Camellias—was shown submerged in water. Pawar sarcastically captioned her video, “What should we call this? River Facing or Sea Facing?” as she showcased the flooded streets outside the high-end residential complexes.

“These are the roads outside ₹100 crore apartments after just half an hour of rain. Yet, people will still buy flats here,” Pawar remarked, highlighting the stark contrast between the luxurious housing projects and the city’s poor drainage infrastructure.

Social Media Reactions

The footage sparked outrage among social media users, many of whom expressed disbelief over the recurring issue of waterlogging in Gurgaon’s poshest areas. “Some of the country’s wealthiest people live here, but no amount of money can fix Gurgaon’s drainage system,” commented one user on X (formerly Twitter).

Another user humorously added, “After seeing Gurgaon turn into a water park every monsoon, swimming should be a mandatory skill for corporate jobs here. If you can’t swim to work, you’re probably in the wrong city!”

A Recurring Problem

This isn’t the first time Golf Course Road has experienced severe waterlogging. Last month, the same area saw waist-deep water after a brief rainfall. Despite being home to some of India’s wealthiest individuals, the posh neighborhood continues to grapple with basic infrastructure issues.

The ₹100 Crore Apartments That Made Headlines

The Camellias by DLF had earlier made headlines when four luxury apartments were registered for ₹106.4 crore each. Among the buyers were notable figures such as Lenskart co-founder Peyush Bansal and several top executives from Dhanuka Agritech, including Rahul Dhanuka and Harsh Dhanuka.

Basic Facilities Still Missing

Despite the enormous price tags and the affluent residents, the recurring waterlogging issue in front of these luxury projects has left many questioning the city’s infrastructure planning. While the lavish homes may offer world-class amenities, the roads outside remain flooded and unusable after even short bursts of rain.

This incident is yet another reminder that even in the most exclusive neighborhoods, basic necessities like proper drainage systems are far from guaranteed.
