Watch: Drenched Zomato Delivery Agent, Tries To Spot Customers In Traffic

In a heart-wrenching incident, a Zomato delivery agent was seen struggling through heavy traffic and rain on the streets of Delhi, in an effort to locate his customer. The clip, which has since gone viral, shows the delivery worker drenched in rain, holding a food parcel in one hand and his phone in the other as he navigated the Mehrauli-Gurugram Road amid a downpour.

Customer Orders Food in Traffic Jam

The video, shared by an Instagram page called “Delhi Visit,” caught the attention of many social media users. The customer had ordered food while stuck in traffic, forcing the Zomato Delivery Agent to endure the challenging weather conditions. The text overlay in the viral video reads, “Somebody ordered food in the traffic jam,” capturing the absurdity of the situation.

Captured from inside a vehicle, the video has amassed over 2.5 lakh views, quickly sparking debate about the ethics of the customer’s actions.

Backlash Over Customer’s Actions

Netizens were quick to criticize the customer for their insensitivity towards the delivery agent’s situation. One user wrote, “This is so inhuman. Respect everyone. It’s raining.” Another commenter angrily said, “Not cool. He’s earning, but is it worth the amount? Human life is a joke in this country.” Others praised the delivery agent’s dedication, with one individual adding, “Give this man a raise. His loyalty to his job is outstanding. Respect.”

A Growing Concern for Delivery Agents

This incident follows a similar case that recently made headlines, where another Zomato Delivery Agent waded through waist-deep water to complete a delivery. While the agents’ hard work and commitment were praised, many users voiced concerns about the pressures these workers face, especially in extreme weather conditions.

Calls for Policy Change

As the conversation grew, several people called out Zomato and other food delivery platforms, urging them to reconsider their policies. Many argued that companies should prioritize the safety and well-being of their employees by halting delivery services during hazardous weather.

The debate highlights the growing concerns over the harsh realities faced by delivery workers, raising important questions about the ethics of customer orders and the responsibility of delivery platforms in ensuring worker safety.
