BJP councillor Ravinder Singh Negi was spotted on Friday morning paddling an inflatable boat through heavy waterlogging in the NH9 area as a symbolic protest against the Delhi administration.
Negi criticized the city’s lack of preparation for the monsoon, stating, “All PWD drains are overflowing. They didn’t get it cleaned ahead of the monsoon. This has led to waterlogging… Vinod Nagar has submerged.”
The heavy rainfall has caused significant waterlogging across the capital, leading to major inconveniences for commuters. Many areas, including NH9, have been severely affected, making travel difficult and frustrating for residents.
Additionally, six people were injured when a section of the roof at Delhi airport’s Terminal 1 collapsed onto cars, including taxis, during heavy rainfall early Friday morning, according to Delhi Fire Services officials.
