Pakistan cricket legend Wasim Akram shared an amusing yet jaw-dropping story during a live commentary session in Australia. Known for his prowess on the cricket field, Akram recounted an unexpected expense he faced for his cat’s grooming, a bill so high it could have easily bought a brand-new iPhone.

Currently in Australia for commentary duties during the ODI series between Pakistan and Australia, Akram couldn’t help but laugh at the hefty sum he paid for the haircut. The total cost amounted to a staggering 1,000 Australian dollars, roughly Rs 56,000 or 1,85,000 Pakistani rupees.

Akram was clearly surprised by the bill, which he thought was far beyond what he anticipated for a simple grooming session. He explained that the procedure included several medical steps, such as anesthesia and post-procedure care. “With this kind of money, you could probably get 200 cats groomed in Pakistan!” he joked.

• 305 AUD for anesthesia to safely sedate the cat
