Emergency Response

Upon receiving information about the incident, Delhi police promptly arrived at the scene. They managed to retrieve Sonu’s body from the drain, and he was rushed to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, he was declared dead upon arrival.

Investigation and Findings

CCTV footage from the area has been reviewed, and no foul play is suspected, according to Sonu’s relatives. The case is being handled under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and further proceedings are underway.

Related Incident

In a separate incident earlier this month, a woman named Seema (40) died from electrocution due to waterlogging in Ranjeet Nagar. The electrocution occurred on August 23 as Seema was walking through waterlogged streets. The area had experienced heavy rainfall on the night of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, contributing to the hazardous conditions.

These incidents highlight ongoing concerns about public safety and infrastructure in Delhi, particularly during adverse weather conditions. Authorities are urged to address these issues to prevent future tragedies.
