India’s fitness icon Milind Soman is gearing up for the 3rd edition of the Unity Run, a challenging 240-kilometer solo journey on foot. This year, the run will span from Pune to the historic Naigaon-Vasai Virar Fort, celebrating India’s 78th Independence Day and highlighting the spirit of unity, peace, and perseverance.
Taking place from August 10th to 13th, the Unity Run is powered by Ampere Nexus and Lifelong. Soman will be running barefoot through scenic and historic locations, showcasing the rich cultural tapestry of Maharashtra. This act symbolizes the strength and resilience of India as it continues to move forward as a united nation.
“The Unity Run is a powerful testament to our nation’s spirit,” says Soman. “Every step is a tribute to the unity and diversity that define India. I’m excited for this journey and the support from communities along the route.”
Soman also promotes his book, “Keep Moving,” which explores the secrets to lifelong fitness. The book delves into the journeys of Soman himself, his mother Usha Soman, and his wife Ankita Konwar. It emphasizes the importance of finding what works for each individual’s body and mind.
The Unity Run will kick off with a ceremonial flag-off in Pune. Soman will lead the run towards the final destination, engaging with local communities along the way. These interactions aim to motivate people to embrace healthy lifestyles and prioritize physical well-being.
