Tortoise Vs. Hare: A Charming Race Revives The Timeless Fable

The timeless fable of the hare and the tortoise offers an enduring truth: perseverance and consistency often triumph over speed and arrogance. In the story, a tortoise, despite its slow pace, outsmarts an overconfident hare, offering valuable wisdom during challenging times.

Recently, a heartwarming video surfaced on Instagram, giving this story a modern twist. The video features a real-life race between a hare and a tortoise. As the race begins, the tortoise steadily moves forward while the hare sprints ahead, only to get distracted and even return to the starting line. Meanwhile, the tortoise stays focused, maintaining its steady pace. In a fitting conclusion, just like in the original fable, the tortoise crosses the finish line first, reminding us that some lessons never grow old.

Since its online debut, the video has captured massive attention, amassing over 10 million views. Social media users quickly flocked to the comments section to share their thoughts. One user remarked, “The thing is that the turtle just knows how to walk, not stop, and the rabbit doesn’t even know it’s racing.”

Another user added, “Focus & consistency = Result.”

A different comment read, “The tortoise does not look back, if the goal is simple, it will go there.”

Several users pointed out an interesting detail—that the hare wasn’t tempted by a carrot but by a leaf, which led to its unexpected defeat. One user explained, “This is a race for us but for a rabbit it could be a trap so he is pretty smart that he is not going to eat that leaf and on the other side the turtle has a shell and whenever someone tries to touch it will go inside.”

Another person humorously noted, “heating with rabbit, he eats carrot.”

Someone else quipped, “That is how everyone thinks about students.”

One insightful comment observed, “Rabbit is more concerned here … he is traumatised, this is what happens when one feels safe he wins steady and slow but the one with no shield always loses in a fight of defence and vigilance.”

Interestingly, a similar video had surfaced in July, where two children staged a race between two rabbits and a tortoise.

In this video as well, the tortoise, which initially started off slowly, begins to move steadily and eventually overtakes both rabbits, clinching victory in the race.
