At least two individuals have perished after a small plane went down near Hicks Airfield in Tarrant County, Texas, on Sunday afternoon, officials confirmed.
The plane crashed about 1:30 p.m. in the 12000 block of North Saginaw Boulevard, hitting several trucks and trailers before bursting into flames, the Fort Worth Fire Department reported. A number of 18-wheelers blazed, but “The fire has now been brought under control,” authorities said to Fox News.
Crash Caught on Surveillance Video
Video that WFAA obtained featured the aircraft crashing nose-first, sliding at high speed, and colliding with an 18-wheeler and trailers. The force was such that “It sent the aircraft vertical as it burst into flames,” the footage disclosed. Black smoke was seen for miles.

Witnesses Describe Explosion and Black Smoke
Residents said they heard a huge boom seconds before the air filled with smoke. A witness claimed one of the customers, who was shaken, rushed inside to call 911. Another resident, Lauren Anderson, said she saw a “100-foot giant black cloud of smoke” before it slowly dissipated as firefighters came on scene.
Investigation Underway
The crash location is between Fort Worth Meacham Airport and Fort Worth Alliance Airport, just northwest of Dallas–Fort Worth International Airport. Hicks Airfield is a private airfield north of Fort Worth.
The authorities did not report the number of occupants or the victims. The Fort Worth Fire Department reported, “The FAA and NTSB have been notified and are expected to investigate the cause of the crash.” Emergency personnel from several agencies are still at the site as further information is gathered.
