Teachers’ Quick Thinking Saves Israeli Kindergarten Class From Hezbollah Drone

Teachers’ quick actions saved a kindergarten class in Nesher, Israel, from a Hezbollah drone attack on Tuesday. Despite no siren warning, the educators heard a faint siren from a nearby town and immediately ushered the children to the facility’s bomb shelter. Just after the children were secured, an explosion occurred near the classroom, shattering windows and scattering debris across the playground.

Sarah Yasour, a teacher at the kindergarten, called it a “miracle of miracles,” recalling, “We heard a very distant siren… and said ‘Alright, let’s go in.’… Once we were in the shelter, we suddenly heard a huge noise and understood it must be close… Only when we went outside did we realize the scale of the miracle. It hit exactly where we had been.”

The attack caused no injuries to the children or staff, but the explosion left debris and shattered glass scattered around the classroom. Nesher Mayor Roi Levi praised the teachers for their quick thinking, noting that no alert was given before the drone attack. This drone strike was part of a larger assault involving 190 rockets and drones fired by Hezbollah on Monday.

The drone explosion came amidst ongoing Israeli military actions against Hezbollah in Lebanon, with airstrikes hitting Hezbollah-controlled areas and more casualties reported from both sides. Meanwhile, in northern Israel, two people were killed when a Hezbollah missile struck a residential building in Nahariya.
