It's time to open your school science books once again and go through the chapter on evolution. Why? Spiritual Guru Swami Aniruddhacharya has questioned the theory of evolution formulated by renowned British naturalist and biologist Charles Darwin.
To put it in perspective: Internet sensation Aniruddhacharya, or Pookie Baba, is in the news yet again for his unpopular comment on this reality. A clip of Aniruddhacharya panning Darwin's theory during a podcast has gone viral on Reddit, with far-reaching debate.
In the video, the spiritual leader declared, "Darwin ne keh diya hum bandar ke santan hai. Darwin ne kuyn kaha? Kuynki Darwin jiss desh se aata hai, uss desh mei kisike baap confirm hi nahi hai." (Darwin told us we are monkeys' descendants. Why did Darwin tell us this? Because in the country Darwin hails from, no one's father is ever sure.
The only edge an idiot has over a wise man is that he can say anything without thinking!

Aniruddhacharya further said that foreign country girls enjoy freedom during early adulthood. "Thode din iske sath, thode din uske sath. Pata nhi kiska baccha hai?" Toh Darwin thik keh rha hai ki bandar ke santan hai kuynki Darwin ke baap ka paata hi nahi hai.
(A few days with this one, a few days with that other. Who knows whose child it is? So Darwin was right when he said we are descendants of monkeys, because even Darwin doesn't know who his father is.)
Justifying his utterance, Aniruddhacharya reiterated that it was the reason why Darwin's theory has no relevance in India.

"It all began when people began sharing his stupid videos on Instagram, referring to him as Pookie Baba," posted a disillusioned user. "The individuals who think him have lost their minds more than this man," faulted another. "Genius," posted one sarcastically.
Interestingly, Charles Darwin, in his book The Descent of Man, released in 1871, did not say that humans came from apes by direct evolution. All he did was note that humans and apes shared a common ancestor, noting that the similarities among mammals, fish, birds, and reptiles indicated that all life forms were connected.
This implies that they indeed evolved through several genetic mutations.
