Swaag Se Swaagat! Pakistani Paraglider Direct Landing On Chief Guest’s Lap Goes Viral | WATCH

A long-forgotten video of an event in Pakistan has been surfaced, making social media users in splits. The clip was shared by the popular account ‘Ghar Ke Kalesh’ on X. It depicts a paraglider making an unscheduled landing, right on the chief guest at Gilgit-Baltistan Independence Day celebration in 2023. The mishap happened when the region celebrated its 76th Independence Day, and the incident has been widely circulated online since then.

The Unexpected Descent

A dazzling show of paragliding replete with trails of red and blue smoke decorated the occasion, but when a paraglider misjudged the landing, the merriment took an interesting turn. Instead of hitting the targeted field, he plummeted right in front of the chief guest in the front row. Attendants scurried from where he crashed into their midst, although none was injured. After that unfortunate fall, the paraglider seemed to be enmeshed in his parachute.

Others were paying attention to the comical details of the situation, such as the crowd still clapping and the cameraman not letting go of his focus. One user even speculated that perhaps the seating arrangement was at fault, saying, “He probably practiced landing there before, and they just put the VIP section in the same spot.”
