NASA astronaut Sunita Williams and her crew aboard the International Space Station (ISS) are gearing up to celebrate Christmas in space. The celebrations come after a SpaceX Dragon capsule delivered supplies and holiday gifts to the ISS. NASA shared a festive photo of Williams wearing a Santa hat.
According to a post on X, “Another day, another sleigh. NASA astronauts Don Pettit and Suni Williams pose for a festive holiday portrait while talking on a ham radio inside the Columbus laboratory module of the ISS”.
According to reports, the crew intends to relive the old holiday traditions by feasting on special meals prepared with fresh ingredients sent from Earth. The astronauts will also make time for video calls with their family and friends before Christmas.
Williams and Butch Wilmore will be returning to Earth after six months on the ISS. The two astronauts launched earlier this June for an eight-day mission but got stranded in space because of a malfunction in their spacecraft.
