A shocking case has emerged from the Shahpur police station area of Gorakhpur, where a woman allegedly forced her maid into a horrific ordeal in her desperate attempt to have a child. The couple involved is now absconding, and police have announced a reward for their arrest.

Maid Lured with Job Offer, Then Trapped

The victim, a resident of Kushinagar, reported that she was offered a job as a cook by accused Brijpal Singh. She was promised a monthly salary of ₹10,000 and began working at his rented home in Shahpur. However, things took a dark turn when Brijpal’s wife, Sonia Singh, allegedly approached her with an unusual proposal.

According to the victim’s statement, Sonia Singh expressed her inability to conceive and offered her land in return for having a physical relationship with Brijpal. The maid refused, but the accused woman did not back down.

Threats, Assault, and Blackmail

One night, Sonia allegedly entered the victim’s room in an intoxicated state and threatened to kill her. She then reportedly forced her husband to assault the maid against her will. When the victim resisted, Sonia tried to lure her with more promises, including a flat and land in Ajmer. When she still refused, the accused allegedly filmed explicit videos to blackmail her and kept her captive for several days, repeatedly subjecting her to abuse.

Victim Escapes, Police Launch Manhunt

The victim eventually managed to escape and reported the incident to the police. City SP Abhinav Tyagi confirmed that the crime took place in June 2024. A case has been registered against Brijpal Singh and Sonia Singh, and a reward of ₹10,000 each has been announced for their capture.

Authorities are actively searching for the accused, who are believed to have fled after the incident. Brijpal Singh is originally from Nand village, Kosikala, in Mathura district. The police have assured that both will be arrested soon.
