Krishangi Meshram, an Indian-origin scholar, has become the youngest solicitor in England and Wales in recent times, a landmark achievement that cements her place among legal trailblazers. Meshram is only 21 years old, yet her incredible journey has drawn attention from all over the world. According to Open University News, her tale was recently published in The Law Society Gazette.

Early Start, Exceptional Results

Born in India and raised in the ISKCON Mayapur community in West Bengal, Meshram began her academic journey unusually early. At 17, she enrolled in a law degree with The Open University. By 18, she graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Law, becoming the youngest-ever OU Law graduate. Meshram is currently living in the United Arab Emirates and is still leveraging her early accomplishments to gain international recognition.

Finding Her Calling in Law

When she took practical legal modules in her third year of study, her interest in law was ignited, transforming her academic endeavor into a lifelong vocation. Speaking to OU News, she reflected on the opportunity: “I was grateful I could begin my LLB studies early. It laid the foundation of my career while letting me discover a deep passion for law.”

As stated in her LinkedIn page, she joined a global law company after graduating in 2022 and worked in Singapore, the UK, and the UAE.

Building the Future of Legal Practice

Meshram’s legal focus goes beyond traditional practice. At the nexus of technology and legal services, she has demonstrated a strong interest in fintech, blockchain, and AI law. Her stated goal is to become an expert in advising private and business clients on important issues like probate and wills, while simultaneously investigating new digital horizons.

“My next step will be to finalise my specialism,” she explained. “I’m hoping to help businesses and private clients while keeping an eye on digital technologies.”

Krishangi Meshram’s story reflects a broader shift in the legal profession, where youthful innovation and tech-driven expertise are shaping the next generation of solicitors. 
At the age of 21, she represents the future of international legal practice in addition to holding the distinction of being the youngest solicitor in England and Wales.
