Comedian Samay Raina has been in the limelight after YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia made some controversial comments on his show, India’s Got Latent. Samay and Ranveer are now both facing legal issues due to the controversy, and in the midst of the current backlash, Samay posted a cryptic message on social media.
His recent post, reserved for his YouTube channel’s private subscribers, contained a red heart and a hug emoji, apparently urging people to spread love and remain calm amidst the controversy. The post had received more than seven thousand likes online at the time of publication.

For perspective, Ranveer Allahabadia, popularly known for his BeerBiceps YouTube channel, had been on India’s Got Latent earlier this month. He asked a contestant on the show, “Would you rather watch your parents having sex every day for the rest of your life or join them once and put an end to it forever?” The question led to widespread indignation, with people condemning it as inappropriate. After the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (I&B) and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) stepped in, the video was taken down from YouTube.
Samay responded to the controversy by posting on X (formerly Twitter), “All that has been happening has overwhelmed me. I have taken down all of India’s Got Latent videos from my channel. My sole intention was to entertain and provide amusement. I shall cooperate with all agencies to the extent of their investigations being completed in a fair manner. Thank you.”
Also, in a recent live show in Canada, emotional Samay spoke about the issue. While finishing his performance, he informed the crowd, “Shayad samay kharab chal raha hai mera, par yaad rakhna doston, main samay hoon (Maybe my time is bad right now, but remember, my friends—I am time itself).”
