In a real-life twist reminiscent of the 2007 Bollywood hit Jab We Met, Indore witnessed an extraordinary story unfold. Shraddha Tiwari, a young woman from the MIG police station area, ran away to marry her lover, Sarthak, but returned home a week later married to another man. The incident has captured the attention of the city and sparked widespread discussion about love, choices, and family reactions.

The Runaway Plan

On August 23, Shraddha left home with the intention of marrying Sarthak. She reached the railway station, only to find that he did not show up. Meeting a New Ally

Shraddha’s train eventually reached Ratlam, a city made famous by the film. There, she met Karandeep, an electrician who worked at her college in Indore and he noticed her sitting alone and approached her, offering help. After listening to her story, he suggested that she return home and inform her parents.

A Sudden Decision

Shraddha refused to go back empty-handed. “I left home to get married. If I go back unmarried, I cannot live,” she told Karandeep. Despite his repeated attempts to convince her, she remained firm but finally, Karandeep proposed, and Shraddha accepted. The couple traveled to Maheshwar-Mandleshwar, tied the knot, and later went to Mandsaur.

Family’s Panic and Relief

Meanwhile, Shraddha’s father, Anil Tiwari, launched a frantic search. He announced a reward of Rs 51,000 and even hung his daughter’s photograph upside down to attract attention. On Thursday, Shraddha called her father from Mandsaur to inform him that she was safe. Relieved, Anil asked her to stay in a hotel for the night and return home the next day. When some hotels refused the couple a room, he transferred money to Karandeep to buy train tickets.

Police Involvement

Back in Indore, Shraddha and Karandeep visited the MIG police station, where Shraddha recorded her statement. Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotia confirmed that both are being questioned as part of the investigation.

Family Decision

Anil Tiwari expressed relief at having his daughter back. He mentioned that the family would keep Shraddha and Karandeep apart for ten days. If Shraddha still insists on living with Karandeep after this period, the family is ready to accept their marriage.

This real-life episode highlights the complexities of love, family dynamics, and decision-making in young adulthood and Indore residents continue to follow the story closely, fascinated by the uncanny resemblance to a beloved Bollywood narrative.
