People from every corner of the globe saw Argentina and France’s World Cup finale. It was the biggest football match anybody has witnessed in the tournament’s 92-year history. After a 3-3 draw in which Messi, 35, scored twice and France’s Kylian Mbappé, a forward, scored three times, Argentina defeated France 4-2 on penalties to win its third World Cup.
Netizens couldn’t stop tweeting about the finale with the hashtag #FIFAWorldCup, which quickly rose to the top of trending topics. CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai, tweeted, “Search recorded its highest ever traffic in 25 years during the final of #FIFAWorldCup, it was like the entire world was searching about one thing!”.
One of the users posted, “Messi is the real G.O.A.T. His life and passion inspire us all to achieve our goals in life. Possibly the greatest individual performance ever in a World Cup final. What. A. Man!!!”
