Rani Mukerji Return As Shivani Shivaji Roy In ‘Mardaani 3’

Bollywood’s finest actress, Rani Mukerji, who made her screen debut in Bengali Film Biyer Phool, which was directed by her father Ram Mukerji and is known for her powerful performance in many films like, ‘Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway’ and ‘No One Killed Jessica’, is set to return to her legendary role as Shivani Shivaji Roy in the next Mardaani film.

Yash Raj Film (YRF) and Mukerji are getting ready to commence work on the upcoming Mardaani franchise from April 2025. YRF made the announcement on the release anniversary of ‘Mardaani 2’, through their social media account.

Rani Mukerji stars as the fearless police officer Shivani Shivaji Roy in the Indian action-thriller serial Mardaani. Her fight against human trafficking is the theme of the first film (Mardaani, 2014), which has garnered appreciation for its realistic portrayal of a serious social concern. In its sequel (Mardaani 2, 2019), Shivani fights a psychotic serial killer, dealing with systemic issues and gender-based violence. Both films were well received by critics, mostly for the interesting story and stirring performances by Mukerji.
