Kate Middleton and Prince William have published their annual Christmas card, with a message that wishes everyone a very happy Christmas. This year’s card holds special meaning since it includes a picture from the video released when Kate announced that she was stopping chemotherapy. The video, made by film-maker Will Warr and released in September, features the Prince and Princess of Wales with their children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis – at their Norfolk home.
Relieved to have completed her treatment after being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year following planned abdominal surgery, Kate spoke about her determination to “remain cancer-free” in the future. “Out of darkness comes light,” she said in a video message.
Prince William, in November, described the past year as the “hardest year” of his life. Speaking during a visit to South Africa, he said, “It’s been dreadful. It’s probably been the hardest year of my life. Trying to get through everything and keep everything on track has been really difficult.”
Reports suggest that the royal couple missed the traditional Royal Family pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace. Instead, they are spending their time in Norfolk with the rest of the royal family.
