UK surgeon amputated his own legs to satisfy a fetish PC: Instagram
Neil Hopper, 49-year-old UK surgeon intentionally froze his legs using dry ice until they required amputation. The prosecutors stated that the motive behind this was a combination of 'chopping off parts of his own body and a sexual interest in doing so.
Hopper wrongly informed insurance companies Aviva and Old Mutual Health that the amputations were the result of sepsis. He spent £466,653 (approximately Rs. 4.85 crore), funding luxuries such as a campervan, hot tub, and home improvements. He was subsequently caught after he confessed to fraud by false representation.
The surgeon also pleaded guilty to possessing extreme pornographic videos from a site called EunuchMaker, which showed men undergoing genital removal. He exchanged nearly 1,500 messages with the site's operator, Marius Gustavson, who is serving a life sentence for running an illegal body modification ring.

Judge James Adkin sentenced Hopper to 32 months in prison, calling the pornography's harm "exceptionally high." Hopper also received a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, and a proceeds of crime investigation will reclaim his fraudulent earnings.
The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust stated that the crimes had no relation to the patient care, however, some patients have sought legal advice. Hopper, who suffered form body dysphoria since childhood, told friends that he should 'milk it' and admitted to enjoy the media attention.
