PM Modi Lauds Rapper Hanumankind for Promoting Indian Culture in ‘Run It Up’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has welcomed rapper Hanumankind for shedding light on India’s cultural diversity through his recent song, Run It Up. While speaking in the 120th episode of Mann Ki Baat, Modi credited the song with placing conventional Indian martial arts such as Kalaripayattu, Gatka, and Thang-Ta into the popular mainstream.

You all know the popular rapper Hanumankind. His new track Run It Up is very popular these days. Our classical martial arts like Kalaripayattu, Gatka, and Thang-Ta have found their place there,” Modi added. He again praised Hanumankind, adding, “Because of his hard work, citizens of the world are learning about our classical martial arts.”

Hanumankind is Back

Following its worldwide success with Big Dawgs, Hanumankind dropped Run It Up, which is a song that is laden with Indian culture. The track is inspired by India’s martial arts and folk culture, showcasing the nation’s rich diversity.

Famous for his fast-paced flow, the Kerala-born rapper again teamed up with director Bijoy Shetty and producer Kalmi for the visuals of the song. In contrast to the risky Big Dawgs video, which included a well of death stunt, Run It Up features a colorful display of martial arts and classical dance forms from all over India, with special emphasis on Kerala’s cultural heritage.
