Paris is gearing up for the Summer Olympics, set to run from July 26 to August 11 this year. In anticipation of the opening ceremony, a captivating video has surfaced on social media, showcasing a full moon aligned perfectly with the Olympic rings on the Eiffel Tower.
The viral clip depicts the full moon positioned centrally within the illuminated Olympic rings of the iconic French landmark. The video, posted by the official French Olympics account, Jeux Olympiques, on X (formerly Twitter), has been widely shared.
“I asked the moon. Only 4 more sleeps before the opening ceremony of,” the post read.
The video, shared on July 22, quickly gained popularity, amassing over 58,000 views. Reactions from viewers included comments like, “And Gaga who has just arrived in Paris… I’m daydreaming. Thank you,” and “This is magnificent.”
The Paris Olympics 2024 will feature 10,500 athletes from 206 countries, competing across 35 venues. Some sports, such as football and rugby sevens, will commence before the official opening ceremony, with matches starting on July 24. Archery and handball events are scheduled to begin on July 25.
The Opening Ceremony will include the arrival of French President Emmanuel Macron and IOC President Thomas Bach, followed by the raising of the French flag and the performance of the French national anthem.
