Pakistani Woman Marries Rajasthan Man Via Video Conference: A Modern Love Story

In a remarkable cross-border love story, a man from Churu, Rajasthan, has married a Pakistani woman via video conference. Mehwish, 25, from Lahore, Pakistan, recently joined her new family in Churu after abandoning her past life and her two children in Pakistan for love.

Mehwish, formerly employed at a beauty parlour in Islamabad, had been divorced from her first husband since 2018. After meeting Rehman, 30, a transport businessman from Pithisar in Churu, on social media, the pair developed a deep connection. They decided to marry, and in a unique twist, held their wedding via video call in 2022 while Rehman was working in Kuwait.

The couple’s union was later solemnized in Mecca during a 2023 Umrah pilgrimage. Rehman, who is married with two children from his first marriage, had his first wife, Farida, living with her parents in Bhadra. Following the marriage, Mehwish arrived in India through the Wagah border and has now settled into her new home.

Mehwish’s transition to Indian life has been smooth, as she has quickly adapted to her new role in her in-laws’ household. According to Rehman’s father, Ali Sher, Mehwish has embraced her duties, including milking cows and goats, and has been enjoying Indian cuisine. She has expressed her admiration for Indian culture and customs, as well as her enthusiasm for Indian movies and TV serials.

This unique story of love crossing international borders highlights the power of modern communication in bridging cultural divides and forging new connections.
