Traveling in a packed train is not pleasant, but the scenery outside usually makes the trip worth it. Within the coaches, however, not all views are lovely. A recent image making rounds from the Bangalore-Jaipur Superfast Express reveals a commuter utilizing the top berth to dry underwear, eliciting comments on train etiquette.

The strange scene is both surprising and entertaining at the same time. The individual who posted the image captioned it with a joke that whereas their fellow traveller was unable to secure an AC ticket, they still received a “free laundry facility.” While a large number of people are laughing over this, others are blaming such people for lacking civic sense.

According to the Reddit post, the photograph was taken in Bangalore (SBC) – Jaipur (JP) Superfast Express on “15th August 2025, at about 10 am.” The Individual posted, “Only in Indian Railways. AC nahi mila, par free laundry service mil gayi.”

Public Reacts With Humour

Responding to the post, a user posted, “Hope the Macho male wore something.”

A majority of people, even outside the country, have issues with civic sense, but this is something that only occurs in India,” one read.

Another said, “Inform him that you don’t wish to see his pants on your side.”

One more put in, “My country is transforming, progressing.”

Indian Railways Special Cleanliness Campaign

Indian Railways has helpline numbers for passengers to complain of dirty coaches, and now they are preparing to roll out the Special Swachhatta Campaign 5.0. The campaign is aimed at disposing of pending public grievances like VIP references, Public Grievances, checking files for recording and weeding, Cleanliness drives, e-waste disposal and Revenue generation through Scrap disposal.

According to the press release, “Swachhatta Abhiyans are already in motion at several Railway Stations and Ministry offices, and there is a robust beginning to the campaign. Top leadership is engaged—the Chairman & CEO of the Railway Board, along with senior officials, are personally directing the preparations through frequent review meetings to ensure seamless implementation.”. To create public awareness, citizen-focused activities like ‘Rail Chaupal’ at selected railway stations and ‘Amrit Samwad’ at 105 Amrit Bharat stations are also being envisaged.

An official inauguration on October 2 will follow an opening phase launched on September 15, when specific targets and objectives were set.
