After a break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport has reintroduced its popular “Pawfect” program. The initiative features nine specially trained emotional support dogs stationed at Terminal 2, ready to offer comfort and companionship to travelers passing through the airport.
The nine furry ambassadors include a mix of breeds such as Golden Retriever, Maltese, Shih Tzu, Lhasa Apso, Labrador, and even a rescued Husky. From Friday to Sunday, between 3:00 pm and 11:00 pm, these trained dogs will be stationed in the departure areas, domestic Level 3, and post-immigration sections, bringing joy to passengers of all ages.
Mumbai Airport’s official handle shared the announcement on X (formerly Twitter) along with an adorable video of the dogs interacting with passengers, instantly going viral and garnering positive responses. The post invited travelers to “be charmed and comforted” by these lovable companions, who are there to “melt the travel stress away.”
Mumbai International Airport is the first and only airport in India to feature an emotional support animal program. The initiative has been especially welcomed by nervous travelers and families with children, who find the dogs’ presence a delightful addition to the travel experience.
With the return of “Pawfect,” Mumbai Airport aims to make traveling more enjoyable and stress-free. Whether it’s a nervous flyer or an excited child, these dogs provide a comforting presence, making the journey more delightful and memorable.
