The accessibility of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools has enabled individuals to bring their creative visions to life. Rashi Pandey (@rashi__pandey_), a Delhi University student, recently utilized AI to craft an Indian interpretation of Leonardo da Vinci’s iconic painting, Mona Lisa.
In this reimagined artwork, Mona Lisa is depicted in traditional Indian attire, adorned with a suit, a dupatta draped over her forehead, and ornate jewellery, including a maang tikka, earrings, and a heavy necklace.
Rashi shared the image with a caption that read, “I made the Indian version of Mona Lisa using AI. Give her a name.” The post quickly went viral, garnering over a lakh views.
X users flooded the comments with humorous name suggestions for the creation. One user reposted the image, captioning it, “Monali from Rajasthan. Monali Sa.”
When an X user suggested that the Indian version of the painting should have a bindi, another user promptly added one and shared the updated image with the caption, “Fixed.”
One user suggested the name “Mona Pandey,” while another commented, “Maithili Sisodiya.” A third user wrote, “Monisha Rani,” and another referred to her as “Monika bhabhi.”
