Model Shares Why She Was Uninvited From Friends’ Christmas Dinner

A 34-year-old Brazilian model and former Miss Bumbum winner, Marina Smith, from São Paulo said she was not invited for her friends’ Christmas dinner apparently due to her looks. As reported by The Star, Smith indicated that her friends felt insecure in fear that her presence might attract their husbands’ and boyfriends’ attention.

“I’ve been banned from Christmas dinner because the women think I’ll steal their men,” Smith shared with NeedToKnow. “They’re worried I might tempt their husbands and boyfriends.”

Smith, who now became a celebrity after winning the Miss Bumbum, flatly denied such intentions of flirting with friends’ partners. “I dress to feel good. The problem isn’t with me,” she said referring to the fact that her insecurities are preventing her friends from sharing the time with someone who might have been their “best friend.”

Smith finds her exclusion particularly distressing because, as a single woman, she already feels left out of events attended by couples. “Being single already limits my outings and trips with friends because they go out with their partners now,” she explained. “But now, being single and beautiful has become an insecurity for them.”

Though often seen sporting a provocative dress, Smith said her purpose never has been to provoke or draw in the attention of friends’ boyfriends. “The problem isn’t with me,” she said.

Similar Incident

Smith’s is not the first. Sabrina Low, 23-year-old social media influencer, remembered being pulled out of a friend’s bridal party for similar reasons. “The bride explained that she was worried I might attract too much attention because of my slim frame,” Low told The New Post. She revealed that the groom later admitted her exclusion was decided in a WhatsApp group she wasn’t part of.

Another woman, Shye Lee, 29 years old from Florida said how appearances always lead to unfair judgments. “People treat you much differently overall,” Lee said. “They don’t judge you for your actions; they judge you just from your appearance.”
