Most individuals avoid bees and with good reason. Not only is their sting painful, but it also swells immediately. Even a fast swarm causes individuals to panic and scurry for shelter. But in Uttar Pradesh, there appears to have been one man who has flipped this phobia on its head.

Rajendra, who is from Bulandshahr, has a special bond with bees. While everyone else would shudder at the thought of having thousands of buzzing bees all around them, Rajendra is not afraid. Footage of him covered with bees has recently appeared on the internet that proves him to be serene while thousands of bees stick to his body and, amazingly, they don’t sting him even once.

A True Bee Friend

This is a rare scene from Syana Tehsil fields in Bulandshahr district. Bees do not get enough food to eat during the rainy season. But Rajendra has become like a saviour for them. Daily, he organises food and feeds these bees so that they can withstand adverse conditions. Because of his devotion, he has earned the title of “bee lover” among the locals.

Bees Can Sting

Bee are not inherently violent, but they will sting when threatened. People tend to shudder at the idea of a bee sting knowing how painful and swollen sting can be. Females are the only bees that have a stinger.

In the case of honey bees, their stinging is deadly to themselves. When a honey bee stings, its stinger remains in the skin and the bee is unable to withdraw it. This causes the stinger together with some part of its abdomen to be ripped out of its body that results in the death of the bee. Not all bees die upon stinging, though. Some bees are capable of stinging repeatedly if they are threatened.
