In a dramatic turn of events, Muskan and Sahil Shukla, accused of murdering Muskan’s husband, a merchant navy officer, and dismembering his body into 15 pieces before hiding it in a cement-filled drum, faced public fury on Wednesday. As the duo was escorted to a local court in Meerut, a group of over 100 lawyers launched a physical assault on them, demanding justice for the gruesome crime.

Police Intervene to Protect Accused

The attack escalated quickly as enraged lawyers tore Sahil’s clothes and attempted to strike them even after they were seated in a police vehicle. The situation became so intense that one lawyer even climbed onto a car in an attempt to reach the accused. Despite the hostile crowd, the police intervened and safely escorted them inside the courtroom. Following their court appearance before the chief judicial magistrate, the duo was remanded to 14-day judicial custody.

Viral Video Sparks Debate

A video capturing the violent confrontation has since gone viral on social media, triggering mixed reactions. While many users expressed their belief that the accused deserved severe punishment, others debated the roles of both suspects in the crime. Some claimed Muskan was the mastermind who manipulated Sahil into committing the murder, while others criticized Sahil for his involvement.

One social media user commented, “The law should take its course. While their crime is heinous, mob justice is not the solution.” Another wrote, “This is another case where a woman’s influence led a man down the wrong path.”

As the investigation continues, public sentiment remains divided, with many calling for strict punishment while others emphasize the need for a fair trial.
