Man Drives Car Into Showroom After Refund Request Denied | WATCH

A Utah car dealership was the target of an angry customer, Michael Murray, who deliberately drove his recently purchased Subaru Outback into the showroom after he realized that there were problems with the vehicle. Murray, 35, had bought the car from Tim Dahle Mazda Southtowne but immediately upon leaving, he noticed mechanical issues and described the vehicle as a “lemon.”

Angry and demanding a full refund of the $4,000 he paid, Murray went back to the dealership only to be turned down. The manager at the dealership told him that the car was sold in an “as-is” condition, so no return or refund could be made. “We even make the document hot pink so they truly understand this is a vehicle that is, ‘as is.’ It hasn’t been inspected.”. But if it fits your budget we will let you take it,” Tyler Slade, the platform manager told the media.

Frustrated by the rejection, Murray threatened to drive through the front door of the dealership if his demand was not met. About 4 pm, he did this. He crashed the Subaru into the glass entrance, and shards of glass flew off everywhere. In a video obtained from inside the dealership, Murray is seen exiting the vehicle. “I told you,” Murray shouts.

Luckily, no one was hurt as a result of the collision, although the dealership claims around $10,000 damages. Seven employees were inside near the door when Murray crashed. Murray was charged with felony criminal mischief and reckless endangerment after arrest. An employee of the car lot commented, “What would’ve happened? Who knows-it could’ve been fatal. He came back, but with rage. without thinking, he just acted out in rage.”
