CCTV Footage of Mahindra Thar Accident Goes Viral as a newly purchased Mahindra Thar SUV, a brand-new car, fell from the first floor of a Delhi showroom in Laxmi Nagar after a young woman inadvertently pressed the accelerator of the car during a ritual of lemon squeezing to ward off evil spirits.
The incident was captured on CCTV of the showroom, shattering the showroom glass and landing on the floor below. Fortunately the women suffered only minor injuries, with no other casualties.

Staff at the showroom and onlookers sprang into action, assisting the driver out of the car uninjured. Police filed a case of rash driving, although the authorities said that the accident seemed to be an innocent error brought about by the frenzy caused by the new acquisition.

The Mahindra Thar, famous for its tough construction, got damaged to some extent during the fall, reminding the public of the dangers of conducting rituals within cars with the engine on. Authorities have made recommendations that pujas and other rituals be done with vehicles turned off to promote safety.
The strange incident has provoked widespread interest online, with internet users both entertained and astonished at the strange combination of tradition and contemporary mishaps of urban India.
