Maharashtra Robbers Tries to Pull ATM Using Thar | WATCH

In Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, robbers tried to drag an SBI ATM using a Thar SUV but fled when the belt snapped. CCTV captured the attempt; police have launched an investigation but made no arrests.

A group of thieves in masks attempted a robbery of an ATM using Thar. the robbery attempt took place in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. As they tried to pull the ATM out with their Mahindra Thar SUV, the belt used in the process broke. This panicked the thieves into fleeing the scene. 

The incident took place from 3:00 am-4:00 am on Monday at the State Bank of India branch near Shahnoorwadi Dargah. The CCTV footage shows four masked thieves arriving at the spot in a Thar, which was later used to pull the ATM machine. The attempt failed was the belt broke.

Reportedly, a yellow belt was used to tie the ATM machine. It was connected to the vehicle to yank the machine out of its enclosure. However, the belt broke during the attempt and forced the thieves to abandon the scene. 

Before they ran away, the thieves tried to steal cash out of the ATM using a screwdriver and even vandalised the CCTV cameras installed inside the ATM kiosk. Despite the efforts, they were not successful in stealing any money.

After monitoring the security footage, the police registered a case against the four masked men under the sections of  'Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita', including charges of theft, criminal mischief and common intention. 

Currently, a probe is underway, and the police officials are scanning the CCTVs in the area to trace the identity of the culprits. However, no arrests have been made till now.
