A Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh man has been booked for allegedly putting up “I love you Pakistan” on social media, a PTI report dated Monday. A complaint was filed leading to an FIR being registered under Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for acts considered contrary to national integration.
Social Media Frenzy Over the Post
The accused, Tabrez Alam, a native of Shikarpur Chaudhary Gautia, was targeted following his post that was reported by the social media group “Akhand Bharat Sankalp Nath Nagari 25” on platform X (ex-Twitter). The group opined that the post injured the unity and integrity of India and sought severe action against him.
Previous Allegations Against Tabrez Alam
Tabrez Alam had also been accused of kidnapping a Hindu girl and trying to convert her, said Izzatnagar Station House Officer (SHO) Vijendra Singh.
A case was filed by the father of the girl that she had gone out of her house with jewelry and money following Tabrez’s luring. He took her to Ghaziabad, allegedly attempted to convert her, and even tried to kill her if she did not cooperate. The girl is still missing, and the police are searching for her actively.
Recent Espionage Case in Uttar Pradesh
On an unrelated occasion earlier this month, two workers employed in Uttar Pradesh ordnance factories were caught and arrested on charges of having leaked sensitive data to Pakistan’s ISI.
The arrested, Vikas Kumar (38), a junior manager in a Kanpur factory, and Ravindra Kumar (45) of Firozabad, were picked up by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on March 13 and 19, respectively. They are said to have shared confidential information for money, becoming victims of a false Facebook account named Neha Sharma, which was used to ensnare them.
