Though TDG did not independently confirm the video’s legitimacy, news reports indicate that Deepak Hooda had registered a complaint against his wife. He said that while conducting an inquiry on dowry, Boora and her relatives abused him verbally and beat him up in front of the police officers. Hooda reported that he was injured in the scuffle.
After his complaint, Hisar Sadar police have registered cases against Saweety Boora, her father Mahender Singh, and her maternal uncle Satyawan under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act, such as charges pertaining to voluntarily causing hurt, wrongful restraint, and criminal intimidation
