Kusha Kapila’s Mom Rita Shares Emotional Journey About Daughter’s Divorce

Kusha Kapila, a famous influencer-actress, opens up about her divorce with Zorawar Ahluwalia along with her mother Rita, talking about how the family came through this public scrutiny and also proved strength in unity and resilience in these tough times.

In 2023, Kusha Kapila revealed that she was getting a divorce from her ex-husband, Zorawar Ahluwalia, and had to endure malicious gossip. She was heavily bashed by her fans and even family members; some called her a “cheater” and a “gold-digger.

In a conversation, the influencer got emotional and said, “The things that have happened to me in the last two years have made me very strong.” Her mother, Rita, said, “It was tough, but it’s okay. People will say what they want, we shouldn’t care. After a while, everyone forgot about it. Now, no one talks, everyone respects the work. There are no bad rumours now; it’s only about how much you are growing and doing good work.”

Her mother continued, saying, “In order to avoid being noticed or asked questions, I started going to the temple a little earlier than normal after this occurrence. Then, your father once said, Why are you scared? No one will ask anything.’ However, one aunty asked something related to this at the temple one day. I was a little shaky during my way home and started crying.” She also told how Kusha’s father reassured her that such obstacles are a normal part of life and should not have a lasting impact on her. He even talked with their relatives to ensure that no one bothered her about it.

Kusha Kapila and Zorawar Ahluwalia ended their marriage last year after dating for several years and marrying in 2017. She recently worked on the web series, Dehati Ladke.
