Kerala Man Fined Rs 2.5 Lakh And Loses Licence For Obstructing Ambulance Report
In a firm action by the Kerala Police, a driver from Thrissur has been fined ₹2.5 lakh and had his licence revoked for blocking an ambulance’s path, according to a report by TimesNow. The incident occurred on November 7 in Chalakudy when the driver allegedly refused to allow an ambulance, en route to Thrissur Medical College, to pass. Some reports indicate the ambulance was coming from Ponnani.
Dashcam footage shared by paramedics shows the ambulance following a silver Maruti Suzuki Ciaz for over two minutes on a narrow, two-lane road. Despite repeated honking and the blaring siren from the ambulance, the driver of the Ciaz continued to block its path. The Kerala Police took swift action after the footage surfaced, which was widely appreciated.
